DAAC System Integrator sponsors the First Fair of Library Innovations in Moldova

On December 3, 2013, the first fair of library innovations conducted by Novateca Program in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the National Library, the Library Association was held in Moldexpo. This is the first fair of national level and aims to present the most innovative library services and practices implemented by means of information technologies, which make library a modern and vital space for development of communities from Moldova.

The fair brought together over 900 librarians from all regions of Moldova and from public libraries from Romania, Ukraine, Latvia and Poland, as well as partners of public libraries from the non-governmental and private sectors. One of the partners of the event was DAAC System Integrator, local company that successfully implemented Novateca project. High performance equipment delivery, installation and testing as well as staff training in libraries were conducted under high standards.

54 most promising public libraries from Moldova presented at the fair library innovations and newly implemented services for the benefit of communities using IT solutions. The new library services from digital inclusion, health, business, e-government, culture, recreation and communication areas prove that public libraries can offer more than books and that they evolve to meet modern needs of Moldovan citizens.

During the event, librarians and fair visitors had the opportunity to attend several workshops supported by facilitators from the United States, Latvia, Romania and Moldova. Similarly, visitors look at the demonstrations of new services implemented in public libraries in Moldova participated in a lottery with prizes from fair partners and attended master-classes and other activities interesting for special guests.

About Novateca project executed by DAAC System Integrator:
The project included: Delivery, installation, testing and acceptance of hardware and software products for public libraries and training centers from the Republic of Moldova.

Customer: NOVATECA: The Global Libraries Program in Moldova is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and aims to modernize public libraries and facilitate access to computers and the Internet for people of the Republic of Moldova through the existing network of public libraries.
